NGEMC’s Operation Round Up (ORU) grant cycle opens Jan. 1, 2020, and the application deadline is February 29, 2020. Nonprofit charitable organizations and government organizations operating in the seven counties that NGEMC serves (Catoosa, Walker, Murray, Whitfield, Gordon, Chattooga, and Floyd) are eligible to apply for a grant.
ORU exists thanks to NGEMC members that choose to have their electric bill rounded up to the next dollar amount every month. The goal of ORU is to give back to the community that we serve, and our areas of focus are:
- Helping children and families succeed
- Responding to emergencies
- Preparing for the future
- Enriching communities of Northwest Georgia
Grant winners are selected by a board of trustees who volunteer from our seven-county service area. All organizations who complete the application process will be notified when a decision has been made, whether they have been selected for a grant or not.
Agencies who have applied and been awarded an ORU grant from NGEMC in the past are eligible to re-apply. However, no agency can receive more than $10,000 in a 12-month period.
